1.4.2. Process of registration of death in the system (e CRVS)

This section provides an overview of the procedures involved in registering fetal deaths using the (e CRVS) system.

Notification
Notification of death for the death of an unborn child is usually performed by users who have the following roles:
• Health care professionals (nurses, health clinics, etc.)
In the death notification, there must be information about the pregnancy and the cause of death. When a fetal death notification is filed, the system (e CRVS) generates a death registration ID and stores the death notification in the system.
When a fetal death notification is filed, the system (e CRVS) will generate a death registration ID and store the death notification in the system.

Declaration

Users with the role of registrar perform the following duties:
• Review and verify the notification of the death of the unborn child;
• Provide burial permits to family or other contact points (funeral managers). A burial permit is usually issued only for legally registered deaths, allowing the removal of the deceased's body (corpse) to a cemetery or other burial place. Burial permits are usually issued after notification of death, not to prevent the burial while the process of registering the death of the unborn child has not been completed.

Certification
If the cause of death is known, the system can close the registration and no more certificates will be created. The system will automatically create an anonymous dashboard of Fetal Death statistics.

Update of the Vital Statistics record

Vital statistics records are updated with anonymized data from death registrations and are available for export to statistical systems.
