2). Filling in a marriage declaration

Important - the content of the declaration form is configurable to fit the requirements from the legislative framework. The elements to display on the form, which ones are mandatory, the applicable validation rules and any default values are fully configurable in HERA. The screens you see in this documentation set only serve as an example.

Filling in a marriage declaration

Note - for the procedure described below, you need to be logged in as a user with the Registrar role.

Follow the steps described below to perform a marriage declaration:

1. Select the New event dropdown list and select Marriage declaration.

This will bring up a page where all necessary information must be provided in the Partner A, Partner B, and Event

As soon as all mandatory information for a tab has been entered, a green checkmark will appear and you can proceed with the next tab. Note that both partners must have a birth registration in the HERA system. Click the Partner A tab and search for this person in the "Search partner A in Person Cards" field. This will perform a search across the Person cards in HERA. If the birth registration of the partner you are looking for is listed, select him or her from the list. Most mandatory fields will now be filled in automatically with the information from the Person Card. Note that this information cannot be changed here. Enter the remaining mandatory fields of the Partner A tab. A green checkmark will appear on the Partner A tab as soon as all mandatory information has been supplied.

2. Repeat step 3 for the Partner B tab.

3. Enter all mandatory information in the Event tab. Once all mandatory information has been entered in the three tabs, the Submit declaration button in the lower right corner will be enabled:

Click the Submit application button. HERA will now check if the marriage declaration is valid using a number of configurable workflow validation rules. For example, your HERA system may have been configured to include the following workflow validation rules:
- One partner must be male, the other female;
- It is not allowed to marry twice;
- It is not allowed to have more than one wife;
- Both partners must be over 18 years old;
- Etc.
Note - these workflow validation rules differ from the regular UI validation which only checks if the user input follows the correct syntax, e.g. "Date of marriage" cannot be a future date. If HERA detects that one of the workflow validation rules is violated, an information message will appear and the marriage declaration will not be submitted. For example:

If all data is correct, a message will appear, stating that the marriage application has been submitted.

5. The submitted marriage declaration will now be listed in the registrar's overview page showing the submitted life events. A certificate can now be printed for this marriage declaration. For more information, see "Actions - Printing a certificate" in Using HERA as a registrar.
